About

Trevor Giggey

2020

On January 5th, 1984, Trevor Giggey was born into a life in golf. His grandfather had been Club President and served on the Board of Directors for many years at the historic Belvedere Golf and Country Club which is now over 100 years old. His father, Ron Giggey, has now been a PGA of Canada professional for over 30 years serving most of that at Brudenell River in Montague, PEI. Trevor was born and raised in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, where he still resides today. Since 2010, he has held the position of Head Professional at Fox Meadow Golf and Country Club in Stratford, PEI.
Trevor has been working in the golf industry since he was 14 years old, where he got his first job as a backshop attendant at Belvedere. From there, he has moved his way up to starter, marshall, pro-shop, assistant professional, and now head professional. Trevor joined the PGA of Canada in 2005. From 2005-2007, he spent his first years as an assistant pro at Fox Meadow under then Head Professional Chris Irwin. In 2008 and 2009, he spent two important years at the Canadian Golf Academy learning the golf swing from one of the best Instructors in Canada, Anne Chouinard. Trevor gained a lifetime of experience in two short years at the Canadian Golf Academy. In 2010, he returned to Fox Meadow Golf and Country Club in his new role as Head Professional, the position he continues to hold today.
Trevor has also had success in recent years on the PGA of Canada Atlantic Tour. In his best season in 2009, he won both the Zone and Tour Championships as well as another event on his way to his first “Player of the Year” Award. In 2010, he had another good year in which he defended his Zone Championship title at his home course. He would also win “PEI Player of the Year.” In 2011, he won the Stanhope Open, and with a number of second place finishes would go on to win his second “Atlantic Player of the Year” award.
During his winters and limited off days in the summer months, Trevor enjoys being with his wife Allison, their daughter Laine and son, A.J.
