One thing was clear after this year’s PGA Atlantic Pro-Junior: the future of golf is in great hands.

On Wednesday, July 23rd, 108 junior golfers and 36 PGA of Canada Atlantic Professionals gathered at Amherst Golf Club for a full day of fun, competition, and mentorship. With clear skies, warm temperatures, and a refreshing breeze, the day offered ideal conditions for a great round of golf.

A special thank you goes out to PGA Professional Michael Archibald and the team at Amherst for their incredible hospitality and support in hosting the event. Their efforts helped create a welcoming and memorable experience for all involved.

From the first tee to the final putt, the energy was high, and the course was buzzing. Throughout the round, players enjoyed a perfectly timed barbecue at hole 10, where hot dogs and hamburgers helped refuel the teams.

Adding to the excitement was a very impressive prize table, generously donated by Acushnet Canada, Cobra Puma, Srixon, Golf Trends, Levelwear, and Callaway. Prizes included golf clubs, carry bags, push carts, hats, and much more.

The competition was intense, with four teams finishing tied at 56 points: Team Anne Balser, Team Derek MacKinnon, Team Josh Landine, and Team Evan White. The winner was determined by a tie-breaker on the back three holes, with Team Balser pulling ahead thanks to two birdies and an eagle. Each member of the winning team walked away with a brand-new Titleist Vokey Wedge to add to their golf bags.

Thanks to the generosity of the donating brands, the celebration didn’t stop there. Every junior golfer had the opportunity to select a prize from the prize table, ensuring no one went home empty-handed.

The 2025 PGA Atlantic Pro-Junior was a shining example of what makes golf so special: teamwork, mentorship, and a shared love for the game. With juniors and professionals coming together on the course, it was a day full of learning, laughter, and lasting memories. Events like this remind us that the future of golf is not only bright, it’s already here.
