The PGA Atlantic Dormie Women’s Pro-Am returned to Mill River Resort this week, welcoming a record-breaking field of 22 teams from across Atlantic Canada. The event continues to grow each year, having nearly doubled in size over the last four years from just 12 teams to its largest field yet in 2026.
Under sunny skies and with plenty of excitement throughout the week, participants enjoyed an elevated tournament experience thanks to new title sponsor Dormie Workshop. From premium leather head cover tee gifts for every amateur participant to exceptional prizing, Dormie Workshop helped make this year’s event one to remember.
Teams arrived on Sunday evening and officially kicked off the week with a special Fireside Chat featuring Canadian golf legend Lorie Kane alongside PGA Professionals Kristi Roach and Laura Reid. The evening set the tone for a memorable few days of competition and celebration of women’s golf.
Round 1
The tournament kicked off Monday morning with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. While temperatures were cool, sunny skies and calm conditions made for an enjoyable opening round.
Team Giggey (Professional Trevor Giggey, Lori MacFarlane, Amanda Cheverie, Wendy Lockhart & Cheryl Paynter) jumped out to an early lead in the team competition, posting an impressive 82 Stableford points. Team Savoie (Professional Andre Savoie, Talia Thomas, Danielle Bursey, Melanie Thomas & Jaime Mullins) remained within striking distance, finishing the day just two points back at 80.
The professional division was equally competitive. Andre Savoie led the way after Round One with 36 points, while defending champion Adam Chamberlain sat just one point back with 35.
Following play, competitors gathered for dinner before taking part in the always-popular putting contest under the lights, with Eunsoon Park and Leslie Slaney of Team Kay emerged victorious. The evening ended with some live entertainment from the one and only, Jon Cyr, where players closed out the night with lots of dancing and great company.
Round 2
Players were greeted by beautiful weather for the final round and another shotgun start as teams looked to make their move up the leaderboard.
One of the highlights of the championship came on Hole #5, where Abbie Wisener recorded her first ever hole-in-one, helping fuel a strong performance from Team Wisener.
After two days of competition, Team Wisener (Professional Abbie Wisener, Ali Dolan, Candace Allinote, Melika Leblanc, & Alicia Kenny) claimed the overall team title. Team Savoie (Professional Andre Savoie, Talia Thomas, Danielle Bursey, Melanie Thomas, & Jaime Mullins) finished in second place, while Team Dominie (Professional Josh Dominie, Melissa Graham, Cathy Phillips, Wendy Barry, & Dorothy Barry) rounded out the podium in third.
As champions, Team Wisener was awarded custom Dormie Workshop belts courtesy of the event sponsor.
The professional division saw Andre Savoie continue his stellar play from Round One, securing both the Day Two and Overall Professional titles. Chad Townsend finished in second place, while Trevor Giggey and Jonathan Garron finished closely behind in a tie for third.
Additional on-course competitions included Closest-to-the-Pin contests won by Jenn LeBlanc on Hole #5 during Round One and Vivian Draz on Hole #17 during Round Two.
