It is with pleasure that we announce that PING is pleased to once again support the PING PGA Atlantic Junior Tournament of Champions and that PGA Professional Michael Archibald and the Amherst Golf Club will host the 4th Annual Championship.

PING has been a fantastic partner and their generous support has been instrumental as the PGA Atlantic recognizes the fine young golfers in Atlantic Canada.

Clubs are asked to consider the August 30th date when scheduling Junior Club Championships so as to ensure that your junior champions have an opportunity to attend this great junior event.

PLEASE promote this to your juniors and confirm your divisional Junior Club Championship qualifiers as soon as they are identified. Qualifying is also through any Junior Invitational and Junior Events that you host … also by divisions.

Please include this in your club’s newsletter or correspondence and specifically communicate this to your junior members and their parents.

Qualifying criteria and additional information …

  • Juniors can qualify based on the following order of priority …
  1. Divisional or overall winner in Junior Club Championships at a PGA golf club
  2. Divisional or overall winner in Junior Invitational
  3. Divisional or Overall winner in Provincial Junior Championships
  4. Qualified for Provincial Team in Provincial Junior Championships
  5. Divisional or Overall winner in MJT Junior Event
  6. Divisional or Overall winner in CJGA Junior Event

  • The divisional winners are based on gross score champions.

  • Qualifications include divisional winners for both boys and girls in Junior, Juvenile, Bantam and Pee Wee Divisions.

Junior Boys & Girls: A player is a junior if they have not reached their nineteenth (19) birthday on or before midnight; August 1, 2022.

Juvenile Boys & Girls: A player is considered of juvenile age if they have not reached their seventeenth (17) birthday by midnight; August 1, 2022.

Please Note:   If you do not specifically crown champions in each of these divisions at your facility, juniors are still eligible based on age criteria. Simply identify your top player in each of the identified age groups. Your club does not have to have 8 divisional winners to participate … you may have anywhere from 1 – 8 champions.

  • Entries will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis.
  • Entry in the Tournament of Champions is not guaranteed for junior champions.
  • It is realized that the timing of junior club championships will affect the opportunity for your juniors to participate in the Tournament of Champions. Facilities are encouraged to establish dates that will afford your juniors the opportunity to participate.
  • Upon completion of the local Club Junior Championships, the host PGA Professional should immediately provide the names and contact for the winners of the respective divisions at their club to the PGA of Canada Atlantic office. This will provide the best opportunity for your junior champions to gain entry.

The following information is required for each junior …

  • Juniors’ Name
  • Division won
  • Handicap Index
  • Birthdate
  • Junior’s e-mail address
  • Parent(s) name(s)

  • Personal Invitations will be sent to the winners from the PGA of Canada Atlantic including a ‘letter of congratulations” and an “entry form”. The host PGA professional will be copied on the correspondence.
  • In addition to Junior Club Championships, any PGA Professionals hosting any Junior Invitational, Provincial Championship, MJT or CJGA event are asked to provide the divisional winners to the PGA of Canada Atlantic office in a timely manner. Depending on the availability of openings, additional invitations may be made based on the priority list provided above.
  • Entry fee … $75 (including HST) … clubs are encouraged to incorporate support   for their champions in the junior programming budget.
  • Practice round play is available on Thursday, August 29th for a fee of $20 including HST. Players are to indicate that they are participating in the PING PGA Atlantic Junior Tournament of Champions when they book their practice round.
