Toombs Finally the Seniors Champion

After two previous runner-up finishes including a play-off loss last year, Steven Toombs finally captured the PGA Atlantic Seniors Championship.

Toombs opened with a solid 71 and lead by two over Todd Bishop of Dormie Workshop and by four over Kevin Dugas of Montague.

Toombs maintained his commanding lead with a 34 on the opening nine holes of the final round. Dugas moved to within three with a 33 and Bishop fell four behind after a 36. 

Bishop made a move with birdies at #11 and #13 with birdies closing the gap to two shots. Dugas had a bad stretch beginning at #13 and slipped out of the picture. Unfortunately Bishop made bogey on three of the next four holes and that left Toombs with a four shot victory after his birdie on #18.

Perseverance pays off … Congratulations Steven Toombs!
